The National Committee of State Opticianry Regulatory Boards (NCSORB) will hold their annual meeting in Cincinnati on September 9-10, 2011.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the Committee is to provide a forum for the exchanging of information; to study and discuss issues of significance and importance to licensure; examine ways and means to further strengthen state opticianry licensing laws and operations to better serve public needs; study and examine trends and other activities that may threaten to diminish or eliminate the role and scope of licensed opticians; undertake appropriate programs and activities relating to threats to licensed opticians; study and examine the needs, procedure and programs for recertification; develop recommendations of programs and activities that will assist and strengthen opticianry; and to appoint a Committee member to serve as a director of the American Board of Opticianry and a Committee member to serve as a director of the National Contact Lens Examiners. The Committee may develop and maintain a valid reliable practical examination.
MEMBERSHIP: The membership of the Committee shall be composed of State Opticianry Regulatory Boards. Each member State Board may designate two delegates, or appoint alternates, as representatives at Committee meetings. All members shall comply with the governing procedures and pay dues.
