What are the 2011 conference dates?

The ABO-NCLE National Education Conference is scheduled for Cincinnati, OH on September 8 - 11, 2011.

 

Where will the conference be held?

The lectures and exhibit hall are located at Duke Energy Convention Center in downtown Cincinnati. Some events, such as the OAA Welcome Reception on Friday evening, September 9, will be at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

 

Why was Cincinnati chosen as the site for the 2011 conference?

Cincinnati is an affordable large city with a state-of-the-art convention facility. It is a central location in the US, in fact its within 500 miles of about 60% of the US population, thus within driving distance for many of our attendees.

 

Where should I stay during the conference?

Special arrangements have been made with the Hyatt Regency Hotel, conveniently located across the street from the Duke Energy Center. Book rooms at www.cincinnati.hyatt.com and enter the group code of G-IABN or call 800-233-1234.

 

What type of education will be offered this year?

There are over 100 hours of ABO/NCLE approved continuing education. As well,  CE credits have been applied for in most states that require specific accreditation other than ABO-NCLE. At least 1/3rd of this year’s education courses are new in the areas of spectacle, optical business and contact lenses. Practical hands-on training workshops as well as free CE opportunities are also available.

 

ABO/NCLE Basic and Advanced Review Classes

A key offering of this conference is that an attendees can attend review courses plus take a certification examination during  the same weekend. As a bonus, attendees who are taking the review classes can also access free Review Course webinars beginning in July.


How is this meeting different?

This conference offers more than CE credits. The focus is on providing a venue where opticians can come together for training, inspiration and networking to improve their technical, professional, managerial and personal performance.

Importantly, this the only national meeting by opticians for opticians.

I'm driving in - is there parking available?

Parking garages are attached to the convention center.

 

What is the closest airport?

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky airport is a major international airport. It offers service from many airlines along with being a hub for Delta Airlines (www.cvgairport.com). Taxifare is approximately $27 from the airport area to the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Duke Energy Convention Center.
